Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (commonly abbreviated as GTA: SA, GTA: San Andreas or simply San Andreas) is a "Sandbox" developed by Rockstar North. It is the third game in 3D in the Grand Theft Auto saga, the fifth launch for consoles and the eighth overall in the series. The game is inspired by the American culture of the 90s. The plot takes place in the fictional state of San Andreas, which covers three metropolitan cities: Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas (which are parodies of Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas). Set in 1992,6 San Andreas revolves around a gang member named Carl "CJ" Johnson who returns to his home in Los Santos after years in Liberty City after learning of his mother's murder. When he arrives in Los Santos, CJ finds his old friends and his family in a state of decadence. During the story, CJ finds out the causes of his mother's death while trying to gain a foothold in his own criminal business. As in previous titles of the series, San Andreas is composed of several elements ranging from driving to action in the third person, showing an "open world" that gives the player full control. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was the best-selling video game for the PlayStation 2 video game console with 20.17 million copies, which has been the biggest success of Rockstar Games Inc.
